First National Bank (FNB) will no longer be offering the PlayStation 4 on its Smart Device offering in 2013, a spokesperson from the bank has told MyBroadband.
“We look forward to offering the Playstation 4 early in the new year,” FNB said. “No specific dates are available as of yet.”
Previously FNB told MyGaming that it planned to launch the PS4 at around the same time as the South African launch on Friday, 13 December 2013.
Although it isn’t clear what has caused FNB’s plans to change, Ster-Kinekor Entertainment, distributor of Sony Entertainment products in South Africa announced that the PS4 had sold out in SA on launch day.
Retailers have indicated that they expect to have new stock of the PS4 available on Friday, 20 December 2013.
Since launching on 15 November 2013 in North America, we’ve had to chance to learn what international press think of the console and what’s under the hood.
We’ve also taken a look at local pricing to see how it all measures up.

This is good news. It means you won’t be sitting with an empty console because in 2014, that’s when actual next-gen games – and PS4 exclusives – will be out.
