During E3, Sony announced that those who bought Far Cry 4 for the PlayStation 4 would be able to invite their friends to play with them, even if they did not own the game.
While an exciting prospect, how exactly will this work?
According to reports, PS4 users without Far Cry 4 will be able to download a Far Cry 4 app that will allow them to be invited to play by friends who have purchased the game. The app will contain all of the game’s content, minus the single-player story missions, and is expected to be fairly large – in terms of file size.
When co-op mode is engaged, the single-player missions are deactivated and the world of Far Cry 4 – outposts included – becomes yours to tag-team.
Technical director for the game, Cedric Decelle, said they are making the co-op play a lot more difficult than the single-player campaign. For those who played Far Cry 3, you will recognise the second co-op player selectable by gamers – Hurk.
An example of the co-op play can be seen in the video, below.
