Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End gets its release date, special editions unveiled

1 September 2015

We’re not even there yet, but it’s safe to say that one of the biggest games of 2016 will be Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, and we now have a release date for when to expect Nathan Drake’s next, and perhaps final, adventure.

Uncharted 4 will launch on March 18th, 2016, and even more exciting than that, the PS4 exclusive comes in Special Edition and Collector’s Edition flavours.

The Special Edition includes the game, a steelbook case designed by Alexander Iaccarino, a 48-page hardcover art book by Naughty Dog and Dark Horse, a Naughty Dog and Pirate Sigil sticker sheet as well as Naughty Dog Points.

You apparently use these points to unlock multiplayer content and character upgrades, Sony said.

The Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Libertalia Collector’s Edition includes everything in the Special Edition, as well as a 12″ Nathan Drake statue by Gentle Giant, three multiplayer outfits (Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Heist Drake and Desert Drake), three custom weapon skins (Golden Weapon Skin, Snow Weapon Skin and Desert Weapon Skin), Henry Avery, Thomas Tew and Adam Baldrige sigil ball caps, Madagascar sidekick outfits, the Phurba dagger taunt and a dynamic theme for your PS4.

It’s a lot of loot, so don’t expect it to come cheap.

The highly-anticipated fourth entry (or fifth, if you include the PS Vita’s Uncharted: Golden Abyss) will be Naughty Dog’s first venture onto the PS4, and given the black magic they have used to push systems to the limits, we’re sure to see some pretty spectacular things when the game launches.
