As you may have noticed, Metacritic lacks any Xbox One or PC scores; that trend’s about to continue.

What it doesn’t do is take away from how well The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has scored among critics.

Kotaku – Yes (PS4)

“Yet thanks to some spry, consistent writing and a fine voice-over performance by actor Doug Cockle, Geralt feels like a consistently believable, three-dimensional person. ”

Gamespot – 10/10 (PS4)

“It is more than its thematic turbulence that makes The Witcher 3 extraordinary, actually. Excellence abounds at every turn in this open-world role-playing game: excellent exploration, excellent creature design, excellent combat mechanics, excellent character progression.”

IGN – 9.3/10 (PS4)

The Witcher 3 is as dense and deep as the other two games in the series in terms of RPG mechanics, and the overwhelmingly massive open-world environment has at once made that depth more intimidating, and in the long run, more rewarding.”

Gametrailers – 9.8/10 (PS4)

“Rich landscapes, deep personal storytelling, meaningful choices, and thoughtful combat in a staggeringly enormous world. The Witcher 3 has arrived.”

Metro – 9/10 (PS4)

The Witcher 3 can be see as pretty much a direct cross between Dragon Age: Inquisition and Skyrim. It has the third person view, moral choices, and multiple open world environments of BioWare’s game, but the real-time combat and open-ended structure is more reminiscent of The Elder Scrolls.”

Destructoid – 8/10 (PS4)

“Specifically, ridges and edges are problem areas, and I had Geralt get stuck a few times in the game world or die to very questionable amounts of fall damage. It doesn’t help the situation when a few main story quests have bugs in them as well.”

Really wasn’t a fan of Dragon Age or even Skyrim (shock!). They’re just not my kind of games and yet I feel so drawn to this…

    Damn.
