{"id":100499,"date":"2016-08-03T10:50:02","date_gmt":"2016-08-03T08:50:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=100499"},"modified":"2016-08-03T10:55:46","modified_gmt":"2016-08-03T08:55:46","slug":"the-hearthstone-summer-preliminary-is-coming-to-johannesburg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/pc\/100499-the-hearthstone-summer-preliminary-is-coming-to-johannesburg","title":{"rendered":"The Hearthstone Summer Preliminary is coming to Johannesburg"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It has been a big year for e-Sports in the South African community, and to add to\u00a0this busy schedule, the Hearthstone South Africa Admin group has announced the second preliminary to be held in South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>The weekend of <strong>12-14 August<\/strong> promises to be an action packed one full of adventure and prizes.\u00a0Here is just a quick rundown of some of the events and prize support.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Cosplay Event<\/h3>\n<p>This event will be run on Saturday 14\u00a0August throughout the day, and\u00a0all those who wish to join are encouraged to come dressed in their\u00a0best WoW outfit, or any Blizzard-related theme.<\/p>\n<p>The prizes are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0<strong>1st\u00a0Place:<\/strong>\u00a0R1,000<\/li>\n<li><strong>2nd\u00a0Place:\u00a0<\/strong>R600<\/li>\n<li><strong>3rd\u00a0Place: \u00a0<\/strong>R400<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/i.imgur.com\/fqFOguv.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Art Competition<\/h3>\n<p>The main prize for the art competition is\u00a0<strong>R500<\/strong> and the opportunity\u00a0to\u00a0showcase\u00a0your work (and possibly get featured by Blizzard). All artwork must\u00a0be related to Blizzard games and must be displayed on both Saturday and Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Voting will take place on the Sunday at 14:00.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Last Hero Standing<\/h3>\n<p>The event will feature\u00a0an open Hearthstone Tournament with the a prize pool of\u00a0<strong>R16,000<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>1st Place:<\/strong>\u00a0R5,000<\/li>\n<li><strong>2nd Place:<\/strong>\u00a0R3,000<\/li>\n<li><strong>3rd\/4th Place:\u00a0<\/strong>R2,000<\/li>\n<li><strong>5th-8th Place:\u00a0<\/strong>R1,000<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The format is Last Hero Standing Swiss. Interested players are to purchase their tickets (details below) and pre-sign up on Battlefy, which you can do\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/battlefy.com\/hearthstone-south-africa\/south-africa-open-tournament\/57776747d80eff210c6d6112\/info\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The event will be following a strict schedule\u00a0which will be\u00a0available for everyone before the tournament.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/i.imgur.com\/6UekGeQ.jpg\" width=\"726\" height=\"693\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Besides these events mentioned, there will be less competitive tournaments as well.
