{"id":100814,"date":"2016-08-10T10:51:08","date_gmt":"2016-08-10T08:51:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=100814"},"modified":"2016-08-10T10:55:24","modified_gmt":"2016-08-10T08:55:24","slug":"pokemon-go-update-out-fixes-tracking-bug","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/nintendo\/100814-pokemon-go-update-out-fixes-tracking-bug","title":{"rendered":"Pok\u00e9mon GO update out \u2013 fixes tracking bug"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pok\u00e9mon Go developer Niantic Labs has released an update for the game, bringing the <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.nianticlabs.pokemongo&amp;hl=en\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Android version\u00a0up to 0.33.0<\/strong><\/a>, and the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/pokemon-go\/id1094591345?mt=8\" target=\"_blank\">iOS version to 1.3.0<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Among the issues addressed in the update is the controversial change to the game\u2019s Pok\u00e9mon tracking feature.<\/p>\n<p>Niantic recently removed the broken footprints indicator below the icons of Pok\u00e9mon in its \u201cnearby\u201d list.<\/p>\n<p>This raised the ire of a few players who were angry that the company appeared to be removing features instead of fixing the bug.<\/p>\n<p>In the most recent update, Niantic has completely overhauled the \u201cNearby\u201d system, and is reportedly testing two variations of the tracker.<\/p>\n<p>Most players should see a new menu called \u201cSightings\u201d, which provides a ranking of the Pok\u00e9mon nearest to you.<\/p>\n<p>Niantic is a also busy testing a variation of the Pok\u00e9mon tracker that shows you which Pok\u00e9stops and gyms a Pok\u00e9mon is nearest to, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/kotaku.com\/niantic-is-testing-a-new-nearby-system-for-pokemon-go-1785001335\" target=\"_blank\">Kotaku reported<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This variant is still being called \u201cNearby\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Other changes included in the update were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Added a dialog to remind Trainers that they should not play while traveling above a certain speed. Trainers must confirm they are not driving in order to continue playing.<\/li>\n<li>Made improvements to the accuracy of a curveball throw<\/li>\n<li>Fixed a bug that prevented \u201cNice\u201d, \u201cGreat\u201d, and \u201cExcellent\u201d Pok\u00e9 Ball throws from awarding the appropriate XP bonuses.<\/li>\n<li>Fixed achievements showing incorrect Medal icons.<\/li>\n<li>Enabled the ability for Trainers to change their nickname one time. Please choose your new nickname wisely.<\/li>\n<li>Resolved issues with the battery saver mode on iOS and re-enabled the feature.<\/li>\n<li>Added visuals of Team Leaders Candela, Blanche, and Spark.<\/li>\n<li>We\u2019re currently testing a variation of the \u201cNearby Pok\u00e9mon\u201d feature with a subset of users.
