{"id":101060,"date":"2016-08-12T12:00:39","date_gmt":"2016-08-12T10:00:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=101060"},"modified":"2016-08-12T12:01:32","modified_gmt":"2016-08-12T10:01:32","slug":"kickasstorrents-is-asking-for-donations-to-get-back-on-its-feet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/business\/101060-kickasstorrents-is-asking-for-donations-to-get-back-on-its-feet","title":{"rendered":"KickassTorrents is asking for donations to get back on its feet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Administrators and moderators of\u00a0KickassTorrents are asking for donations\u00a0to rebuild\u00a0the site, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/torrentfreak.com\/kickasstorrents-crew-ask-for-donations-to-rebuild-the-site-160811\/\" target=\"_blank\">reports TorrentFreak<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This follows the site&#8217;s <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/business\/99340-this-is-why-you-cant-get-into-kickasstorrents.html\" target=\"_blank\">takedown <\/a><\/strong>in July and the arrest of its\u00a0founder, Artem Vaulin.<\/p>\n<p>Moderators and other members quickly set up a new forum a few days after KAT went down, and thousands of members have now returned to the community.<\/p>\n<p>The site has now started a fundraising campaign asking for money to repair and rebuild the \u201cauthentic KAT site code.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The team is accepting donations through PayPal and a GoFundMe campaign, hoping to collect several thousands dollars.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis site we now inhabit is costing money: Money that a few individuals put up to ensure the survival of this Community.
