MyGaming recently ran an article<\/a><\/strong> highlighting the special gaming and tech deals on offer during Takealot’s weekend flash sale.<\/p>\n

Response to the sale prices were not positive, with several readers pointing out that the prices were still relatively high for a “sale”.<\/p>\n

This isn’t the first time that Takealot\u00a0has been associated with\u00a0pricing discrepancies, with the site previously breaching the Advertising Standards Authority of South Africa’s rules with one of its Daily Deals<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Takealot’s official response at that time was: \u201cThe original (or “was”) prices on Deals are the recommended retail prices given to us by our suppliers at the time we listed the goods.”<\/p>\n

We therefore took it upon ourselves to compare Takealot’s sale prices with the original\u00a0retail prices of other well-known stores.<\/p>\n

While it will always be easy to find a cheaper price somewhere else if you look hard enough, we instead chose to focus on how prices differ across the board.<\/p>\n
