Over 13,200<\/a><\/strong> Telkom users have been hit by outages this last week after the company’s lines were sabotaged.<\/p>\n This is likely as a result of the ongoing Communication Workers Union strike which is currently well into its fourth week.<\/p>\n \u201cA total of 85 street distribution cabinets<\/strong> (SDCs) have been damaged in the past five days. Many of these SDCs have either been fully repaired or are partially repaired,\u201d said Telkom spokesperson Jacqui O\u2019Sullivan.<\/p>\n \u201cIn areas where the work is still underway, the technicians are bringing streets back online as they complete the repairs.\u201d<\/p>\n Those not partaking in the strike are also being targeted.<\/p>\n \u201cThese incidents are examples of ongoing acts of intimidation by the CWU and the spike in sabotage is related to this industrial action.”<\/p>\n “These are not random acts of vandalism or incidents of cable theft.
