graphics card&#8217;s power cables are about to become obsolete"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New PCIe standards are on the verge of making your graphic&#8217;s cards auxiliary power cables obsolete<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This news comes via an <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tomshardware.com\/news\/pcie-4.0-power-speed-express,32525.html\">interview<\/a><\/strong> with Tom\u2019s Hardware, in which PCI-SIG Vice President Richard Solomon said that new PCIe 4.0 motherboard connectors would deliver a minimum of 300 watts and perhaps as much as <strong>500 watts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>That means you could power\u00a0today\u2019s most demanding graphics cards\u00a0without the need for dedicated power cables.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, PCIe 3.0 is currently certified for up to 75 watts of power delivery, so this proposed jump is quite substantial.<\/p>\n<p>PCIe 4.0 will be backward compatible with PCIe 3.0 cards, although newer PCIe 4.0-compliant cards can\u2019t be used on older PCIe 3.0 boards.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/PCIe.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone
