Telltale Games (Tales of Monkey Island, Sam & Max) held a press event yesterday at which they announced plans for a number of games, including a reboot of the King’s Quest franchise. One would assume that Activision, who owns the IP rights to King’s Quest, has given this the go ahead. The mega-publisher had proven sticky about a fan-made homage<\/a> to the series, The Silver Lining, but eventually gave it the go ahead. Could the interest generated by the Silver Lining have led to the official renewal?<\/p>\n

Details are scant at this point but we do know that it will be a full reboot of the series and not a port of the original. Telltale is set to reveal more at E3 which is held in June. If you are too wet behind the ears to have endured the awesomeness that was the King’s Quest series, then you may be well served by MyGaming’s King’s Quest retrospective, serve up in parts one<\/a> and two<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Other news was of Puzzle Agent 2, a continuation of the crime solving career of Agent Tethers. The original game is available on PC and iOS and will be hitting PSN soon. Hector: Badge of Carnage, originally an iOS game, will be ported by Telltale to PC and MAC.<\/p>\n

A game based on Vertigo comic book series Fables will also be heading to PC and consoles sometime in Q1 2012. The comic book series features famous fairy tale and mythological characters that have been forced from their homelands.<\/p>\n

Finally, it has been confirmed<\/a> that Telltale will be working on a game based on the Walking Dead series of comics. Little else is known at this point.<\/span><\/p>\n
