Creative Assembly has released a playable demo of its upcoming empire management\/strategy sequel, Total War: Shogun 2. This is the first direct sequel to the debut game in the Total War franchise.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, the demo weighs in at a whopping 5932MB, so will only really be a viable download for 4MB\/s uncapped ADSL users, and even then it feels like a bit of an indulgence.<\/p>\n
The demo allows players access to the Chosokabe tutorial and Sekigahara historic scenario.<\/p>\n
The original Total War was released back in June 2000 and was set during the Sengoku jidai, which was a time when various Japanese states were at war between the mid-15th centaury and the beginning of the 17th centaury. The game was was unique in that it allowed players to manage an empire using a turn-based map overview system, and also engage in real time battles up close and personal in what was then ‘stunning 3D’.<\/p>\n
