Earlier this month Blizzard announced <\/strong><\/a>a voting process to select the best Overwatch players in South Africa to represent the country in the Overwatch World Cup.<\/p>\n

After collecting\u00a0over 3 million votes worldwide, the results are finally in.<\/p>\n

The players representing South Africa are as follows:<\/p>\n

  1. Marthinus “CarNage<\/a><\/strong>” Strydom: Team Captain – 44%<\/li>\n
  2. Ruan “Senticall<\/a><\/strong>” Potgieter – 43%<\/li>\n
  3. Wayne “Visions<\/a><\/strong>” Short- 29%<\/li>\n
  4. Jacques “Selfmoord<\/a><\/strong>” Wentzel – 22%<\/li>\n
  5. Sean “sZZ<\/a><\/strong>” McCalgan – Captain’s Pick<\/li>\n
  6. Thorn “Dup<\/a><\/strong>” du Preez – Captain’s Pick<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Starting in September, these teams will take part in best-of-three, single-elimination online qualifiers.<\/p>\n

    Then, at BlizzCon in November, sixteen teams will battle in round-robin group stages and single-elimination finals.<\/p>\n

    To ensure that all major regions of the world are well-represented at BlizzCon, the sixteen teams competing there will include six<\/strong> from the Europe game region, six <\/strong>from the Asia-Pacific game regions, and four<\/strong> from the Americas.<\/p>\n
