{"id":10283,"date":"2011-02-24T12:17:00","date_gmt":"2011-02-24T10:17:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T22:00:00","slug":"geohot-raises-enough-cash-through-donations-to-fight-sony","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/playstation\/10283-geohot-raises-enough-cash-through-donations-to-fight-sony","title":{"rendered":"Geohot raises enough cash through donations to fight Sony"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Earlier this week, we reported that infamous PS3 hacker George &ldquo;GeoHot&rdquo; Hotz was asking for <a href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/ps3\/10183-PS3-hacker-Geohot-asks-community-for-donations.html\" target=\"_self\">donations<\/a> to help pay his legal fees in an ongoing court case against Sony.<\/p>\n<p>A post on his <a href=\"http:\/\/geohotgotsued.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">blog<\/a> reveals that the plea seems to have done the trick, at least for now.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Thank you so so much for all of your help, things are looking up money wise. Expect to see a few more lawyers on my responses! I have enough to cover my legal fees for the time being. And in the absolute worst case scenario, we don&#8217;t want Sony getting it :-P&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Sony filed a lawsuit agaist Hotz back in January when the young hacker released security keys for the PlayStation 3 online.
