VREEEEM! Some significant press embargo was yanked sometime last night, and news about the incoming Gears of War 3 multiplayer beta is dripping all over the internet tubes like bits of the luckless Carmine family.<\/p>\n

First up – and most importantly – the beta is dropping in “mid-April”. It’s not yet entirely clear whether this is for early access tickets (shipped with the Epic Edition of Bulletstorm) or for everybody, but either way, it’s pretty soon.<\/p>\n

Next, two maps are already confirmed – the sporty, death-spicy Thrashball, and the… supermarket-themed Checkout. Two other maps will be bundled in, however, and you – THAT’S YOU, SOLDIER! – get to vote on what those will be. Roll on over to the official Gears of War 3 Facebook<\/a> fan page and make your mark. According to the poll, the nominees are:<\/p>\n

•    Overpass
•    Old Town
•    Mercy
•    Trenches<\/p>\n
