{"id":103969,"date":"2016-09-12T07:42:57","date_gmt":"2016-09-12T05:42:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=103969"},"modified":"2016-09-12T07:43:41","modified_gmt":"2016-09-12T05:43:41","slug":"the-next-gen-playstation-5-could-arrive-in-2018-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/hardware\/103969-the-next-gen-playstation-5-could-arrive-in-2018-report","title":{"rendered":"The next-gen PlayStation 5 could arrive in 2018: report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Despite the recent reveal of the PlayStation 4 Pro, we may see a next-gen PlayStation 5 console in 2018, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/gamingbolt.com\/ps5-may-arrive-in-2nd-half-of-2018-nintendo-nx-october-reveal-clarified-analyst\" target=\"_blank\">Gamingbolt <\/a><\/strong>reports.<\/p>\n<p>Sony recently unveiled\u00a0its powerful new PlayStation 4 Pro console along with a revised standard model of the PlayStation 4.<\/p>\n<p>These announcements were foreseen\u00a0by analyst Damien Thong, who correctly predicted that both consoles existed well before any major information regarding the new console lineup was available.<\/p>\n<p>Thong has also predicted\u00a0that the PlayStation 5 will arrive in the second half of 2018 and will be a successor to the current PlayStation 4 lineup.<\/p>\n<p>This means that the device\u00a0will signify the start of\u00a0a new console generation just two years\u00a0after the announcement of the PlayStation 4 Pro and 5 years after the launch of the original PlayStation 4.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">PS4 Pro?
