Bethesda is ready to offer mod support for PlayStation 4, but Sony will not let PS4 gamers use mods in either Fallout 4 or Skyrim: Special Edition.<\/p>\n
This follows a recent blog post <\/a><\/strong>by Bethesda, explaining that although the company has been ready to offer mod support on PS4 for a while now, Sony will not allow PS4 gamers to use mods, even in the upcoming Skyrim Special Edition.<\/p>\n “After months of discussion with Sony, we regret to say that while we have long been ready to offer mod support on PlayStation 4, Sony has informed us they will not approve user mods the way they should work: where users can do anything they want for either Fallout 4 or Skyrim Special Edition,” said Bethesda.<\/p>\n “Like you, we are disappointed by Sony\u2019s decision given the considerable time and effort we have put into this project, and the amount of time our fans have waited for mod support to arrive.”<\/p>\n “However, until Sony will allow us to offer proper mod support for PS4, that content for Fallout 4 and Skyrim on PlayStation 4 will not be available.”<\/p>\n Skyrim Special Edition is greatly anticipated by modders due to its increased maximum memory utilisation, allowing PC and Xbox One gamers to create even bigger mods which have the potential to completely change the game.<\/p>\n Bethesda has said that it will update fans if the situation changes, but\u00a0Sony doesn’t seem likely to change its mind.<\/p>\n The next-gen PlayStation 5 could arrive in 2018: report<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Insanely powerful 4K gaming laptops you can buy in South Africa<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n
