would rather play co-op than competitive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new study has revealed that co-op gameplay with friends is the preferred multiplayer option among gamers.<\/p>\n<p>A 2016 study\u00a0conducted by <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/quanticfoundry.com\/2016\/07\/21\/social-gaming\/\" target=\"_blank\">Quantic Foundry<\/a><\/strong> surveyed <strong>1,266 gamers<\/strong> and found that they\u00a0preferred co-op gameplay with friends to competitive gameplay with strangers.<\/p>\n<p>Gamers were asked to rate their enjoyment of the following six activies on a standard 5-point scale:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Co-op gameplay with friends in the same room<\/li>\n<li>Co-op gameplay with friends online<\/li>\n<li>Co-op gameplay with strangers online<\/li>\n<li>Competitive\u00a0gameplay with friends in the same room<\/li>\n<li>Competitive gameplay with friends online<\/li>\n<li>Competitive gameplay with strangers online<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Co-op versus Competitive<\/h3>\n<p>Co-op gameplay with friends was far more popular than competitive gameplay among the gamers surveyed.<\/p>\n<p>Playing together with friends in the same location was also slightly more popular than playing with friends online.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Co-op-vs-competitive-friends.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-104221\" class=\"my-4\">Men versus Women<\/h3>\n<p>While gender was relatively evenly distributed regarding local and online co-op with friends, competitive gameplay is a different story.<\/p>\n<p>Men seem to enjoy competitive gameplay far more than women, especially when playing with strangers.<\/p>\n<p><a
