Crytek representatives have confirmed that Crysis 2’s multiplayer won’t be using EA’s somewhat, um, controversial Online Pass scheme.<\/p>\n
“All we can say\/confirm is that we aren’t using Online Pass for Crysis 2,” somebody over at the studio told CVG. <\/a><\/p>\n The Online Pass is basically a one-time code, allowing buyers to access online features, including multiplayer. Secondhand buyers have to purchase this code separately, which has lead to some grumbling among gamers about evil, capitalist greed, and how much the latest game sucks.<\/p>\n According to the same report, it’s speculated Crytek was able to opt out of the scheme because they’re an independent developer. Or maybe Cevat Yerli just threatened somebody with his German underworld links.<\/p>\n OXM just ran its review of the game, awarding it 9\/10 and claiming the online shooty stuff is “some of the most exciting, angry and satisfying action you’ll ever have”.<\/p>\n Crysis 2 launches 25 March.<\/p>\n
