Battlefield 2142 is back after two years of being shut down.<\/p>\n

The game’s revival is thanks to a fan-made project which has made the 10-year old futuristic shooter free to download and play on PC.<\/p>\n

After the game’s multiplayer Gamespy service shut down years ago, the game was officially dead and no longer supported by EA.<\/p>\n

EA has not shut down the fan project, and has not stated any intention to inhibit\u00a0the work of classic Battlefield fans.<\/p>\n

Battlefield 2142 Revive launched on the weekend, and had a concurrent player count of just under 400.<\/p>\n
