In celebration of her 75th anniversary the DC has started a new title that goes back and forth between her past and present, reports Gizmodo<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

However, writer Greg Rucka plans to make some controversial changes to the superheroine’s past, including homosexual relationships with other Amazon warriors.<\/p>\n

Rucka said:<\/p>\n

…This is inherently the problem with Diana: we\u2019ve had a long history of people \u2014 for a variety of reasons, including sometimes pure titillation, which I think is the worst reason \u2014 say, \u201cOoo. Look. It\u2019s the Amazons. They\u2019re gay!\u201d<\/p>\n

And when you start to think about giving the concept of Themyscira its due, the answer is, \u201cHow can they not all be in same sex relationships?\u201d Right? It makes no logical sense otherwise.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s supposed to be paradise. You\u2019re supposed to be able to live happily. You\u2019re supposed to be able \u2014 in a context where one can live happily, and part of what an individual needs for that happiness is to have a partner \u2014 to have a fulfilling, romantic and sexual relationship. And the only options are women.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This makes sense to us but we have no doubt that this will drum up some controversy.<\/p>\n
