It turns out Mario is much younger than you think.<\/p>\n

Despite the great, bushy moustache, gamers learnt that the Italian plumber is only 24 years old after a recently re-released interview with creator Shigeru Miyamoto.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it was fortuitous that we didn\u2019t put any restrictions on Mario as a character,\u201d Miyamoto told Nintendo Online Monthly<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cNormally when you create a character and present him to the world, all the details get filled in: what\u2019s his favorite color? What kind of food does he like to eat?”<\/p>\n

“But with Mario, aside from the fact that he\u2019s about 24-25 years old<\/strong>, we didn\u2019t define anything else.\u201d<\/p>\n
