There is endless enjoyment to be found\u00a0delving into Steam’s back-end statistics.<\/p>\n

They provide an intuitive\u00a0way to check out what games are selling well, what games are playing, and of course how our own PCs compare to the rest of the world.<\/p>\n

Of course it also gives us a chance to compare how South Africa matches up to the rest of the world (click to enlarge):<\/p>\n

That means over the last 7 days (at the time of writing), South Africa racked up a rather hefty 225.3TB in Steam downloads at a decent 3.1Mbps.<\/p>\n

That’s nothing compared to giants like the USA (who recorded 21.9 Petabyte downloaded at 27 Mbps) or Russia (at 9.5 PB with an average download rate of 16.4 Mbps<\/span>).<\/span><\/p>\n

We do however come out on top as Africa’s biggest Steam users – not a particularly difficult\u00a0task, with countries like Sudan contributing nothing to the usage statistics.<\/p>\n
