Set in 2027, the Korean People’s Army has invaded and overrun North America. The single player campaign was penned by Apocalypse Now co-writer John Milius, and there is also a dedicated multiplayer component.
The first reviews have begun to spill out onto the internet, and the results are fairly positive for the most part.

CVG 86/100 Read more

If you’re looking for a military-style shooter that offers something genuinely different; one with a smart narrative pull in an evocative world that borrows from the very best, you’ll struggle to go wrong with Homefront. The campaign length is an obvious let-down, as is Kaos’s refusal to let the player find their own way – but the quality of the multiplayer is a fine counterweight to both.

Xbox Addict 93/100 Read more

THQ has already set personal records for preorders and I have no doubt that Homefront will be their hit this year. Combining so many elements into such a cohesive story, THQ has reminded me why I love gaming. The only fault I could find other than the character models was the relatively short single player campaign; on the hard level I finished the game in less than 7 hours. As a casual gamer I found the hard setting just difficult enough to be engaging while allowing steady progression.

Totally 360 90/100 Read more

Overall, Homefront is a fantastic game. It was one of my most anticipated titles for the first half of 2011 and it didn’t disappoint. Kaos has created a great shooter and, hopefully, a great new franchise.

Planet Xbox 360 87/100 Read more

If Homefront suffers from anything, it’s occasional lulls in pacing. At one point, you’re introduced to your Resistance headquarters, but instead of being able to dash right into the action, you have to walk around and talk to people. It’s good to have narrative in a game, but not everyone will be in the mood to talk. Still, it adds to the game more than it detracts. Even if you think you’ve gotten your fill from first-person shooters (or you’re saving some space on your shelf for next week’s release of Crysis 2), Homefront deserves a spot in it. This is a gritty, brilliantly made shooter that will shake you up more than once, backed by a powerful story and the kind of action that you’d come to expect from a top-tier entry in the genre. Lock and load, soldier, you’ve got a country to save in THQ”s Homefront.

Discuss Homefront in the forums

[20

post-10663","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-features
["GET
