Southwest Airlines flight 994 from Louisville to Baltimore was evacuated this morning while still at the gate because of a smoking Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphone, reports The Verge<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Samsung recently undertook the most expensive smartphone recall in history to ensure that incidents like these wouldn’t occur.<\/p>\n

That’s why its a major concern that not only are original\u00a0Galaxy Note 7 smartphones still catching alight, so are the replacement versions that supposedly\u00a0fixed this error.<\/p>\n

“The Verge spoke to Brian Green, owner of the Note 7, on the phone earlier today and he confirmed that he had picked up the new phone at an AT&T store on September 21st.”<\/p>\n

“A photograph of the box shows the black square symbol<\/a><\/strong> that indicates a replacement Note 7 and Green said it had a green battery icon.”<\/p>\n

While it is likely this is just one of the older models that slipped through the cracks, it may not be the worst idea to opt for another device\u00a0instead.<\/p>\n
