In case you missed it, rAge Expo 2016 took place from 7 – 9 October at the TicketPro Dome, Johannesburg.<\/p>\n

Showcasing the latest in games, hardware, and everything geek, the expo was one of the biggest yet and attracted gamers from across South Africa.<\/p>\n

If you couldn’t make it to rAge 2016, here’s what you missed out on:<\/p>\n

Virtual Reality<\/strong><\/h3>\n

One of the biggest highlights of rAge 2016 was the arrival of VR in South Africa.<\/p>\n

Although the headsets haven’t hit\u00a0the local market yet, visitors could try out VR headsets such as the HTC Vive and PlayStation VR on the expo floor.<\/p>\n

Cosplay<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Cosplay is always a major part of rAge Expo and this year was no different.<\/p>\n

With a parade and a dedicated cosplay area, the cosplay at this year’s rAge was some of the best South Africa has ever seen.<\/p>\n

NAG LAN<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The traditional NAG LAN was once again hosted at rAge, and saw PC gamers from all over South Africa setting up for a three-day marathon gaming session.<\/p>\n

Gamers competed in tournaments, camped in sleeping bags, and enjoyed the high-speed internet access.<\/p>\n

DGL Masters<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Telkom DGL Masters is the next step for South African eSports, and consists of both a\u00a0Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Dota 2 tournament.<\/p>\n

The top 8 teams in the country competed for a\u00a0massive prize pool of R1 million, with\u00a0Paul “ReDeYe” Chaloner<\/a><\/strong> hosting the event alongside the best local talent.<\/p>\n

Hardware<\/strong><\/h3>\n

rAge Expo 2016 was a PC gamer’s heaven, with a large number of hardware retailers offering great discounts on everything from graphics cards to peripherals.<\/p>\n

The PlayStation 4 Pro and Slim were also on display, and are expected to arrive in South Africa next month<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Games<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Visitors to the expo could enjoy some time with the latest games, including Forza Horizon 3, Mafia 3, Gears of War 4, and much more.<\/p>\n

Gamers could also buy games at a discount from a number of stands.<\/p>\n
