SouthPeak Interactive and Firefly Studios have announced that the release of their castle building strategy game Stronghold 3 has been delayed. Originally heading for the PC platform in “spring 2011”, a new release window of “later this summer” has been indicated.<\/p>\n
Obviously keeping with the medieval theme, they must consider the Earth to be flat and the southern hemisphere to be some sort of blasphemous suggestion rewarded with a public flogging. For those of us brave enough to question the established order, we can expect the game sometime around the Q3\/Q4 period of 2011.<\/p>\n
“The release window has been pushed back to include a host of great new features that will ensure Stronghold 3 truly is the king of the castle,” explained Firefly via an otherworldly runic parchment transmitted through the ether.<\/p>\n
“We want to make sure fans get the game they want and deserve,” said Stronghold 3’s designer Simon Bradbury. “Although some may be disappointed the game isn’t coming out as soon as they expected, we’re sure they won’t be disappointed with the new elements we’re adding to the franchise, to make this the best Stronghold yet.”<\/p>\n
The Stronghold series first made its mark on the city building management\/strategy genre in 2001. The latest iteration in the franchise boasts a keep full of features – including night time battles, an improved multiplayer mode, physics and a visually impressive graphics engine.<\/p>\n
