{"id":11147,"date":"2011-04-07T03:32:00","date_gmt":"2011-04-07T01:32:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T22:00:00","slug":"epic-confirms-no-infinity-blade-port-for-android-devices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/business\/11147-epic-confirms-no-infinity-blade-port-for-android-devices","title":{"rendered":"Epic confirms no Infinity Blade port for Android devices"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Infinity Blade might have been a slash-hit over on iStuff, but it won&rsquo;t be coming to Android devices any time soon because Google apparently isn&rsquo;t quite &ldquo;evil&rdquo; enough.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When a consumer gets the phone and they wanna play a game that uses our technology, it&#8217;s got to be a consistent experience, and we can&#8217;t guarantee that,&#8221; Epic&rsquo;s Mark Rein told <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamesindustry.biz\/articles\/2011-04-06-epic-no-unreal-engine-for-android-for-now\" target=\"_blank\">GamesIndustry.biz<\/a> in a recent interview. &#8220;That&#8217;s what held us off of Android.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If you took the underlying NGP hardware and shipped Android on it, you&#8217;d find far far less performance on Android,&#8221; added Tim Sweeney. &#8220;Let&#8217;s say you took an NGP phone and made four versions of it. Each one would give you a different amount of memory and performance based on the crap [networks] put on their phone. Google needs to be a little more evil. They need to be far more controlling.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Another issue is the platform&rsquo;s 50 MB size limit for apps.
