I just can’t get enough of Shogun 2: Total War, and it’s actually not that often that I will continue to play a game after handing in my review. A few recent classics have made this short list, including Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and StarCraft II, both of which I still play quite regularly. Will Shogun 2 make this list? The multiplayer component is pretty solid so far, and we are starting to see a few mods appear so it just might. My Shogun 2 review. <\/a><\/p>\n

Otherwise, my console gaming time will be eaten up by Virtua Tennis 4. I can’t wait to see how it compares to Top Spin 4 which I reviewed a few weeks ago. My Top Spin 4 review. <\/a>

This weekend I’m going to be perfecting my air stomp in Crysis 2. Granted I die about 67 times for every 1 time I pull it off, but once I get that down my steel-capped boot will be a force to be reckoned with. The game lobby halls will echo with tales of my merciless, mighty feet. Survivors with oddly-shaped heads will speak in hushed tones about how they made it out alive, at the cost of facial symmetry.<\/p>\n

Or I’ll get owned every time I try and give up and play some StarCraft 2; I’ve got some tournament games to play. This could admittedly be the more likely scenario, or I’ll have to actually use a gun or something weak like that. Perhaps I’ll look into invisible melee attacks.

Let’s see… Since last week’s choice was obviously not “manly” enough, I guess I better pick something hardcore. So, here it is – Bulletstorm! You happy Nic!?<\/p>\n

With the amount of cussing in Bulletstorm I am pretty sure it has to count! But I have a little confession, please don’t publish this part (Oops – Ed<\/em>). I will still avidly be playing Pokemon on the down-low, since I am totally addicted. Last weekend I rushed out like a giddy 10 year old on a mission to my local Toys R Us and acquired two other versions of the games. Oh how I love thee Pokemon!<\/p>\n

Maybe, just maybe, I will get around to Dragon Age II. So yup, Bulletstorm it is. It makes me hard! I mean, tough! I am a manly man!

Pin the ICBM on the iBurst modem. It’s a modern twist on the classic party game, and just as much fun for everybody, but especially me.<\/p>\n

That done, I have grand plans to spend the entire weekend away from computer monitors and TVs and just about anything and everything else with a flicker rate over 5hz, and rediscover reality. But I’ll probably play Crysis 2 multiplayer instead.

The ridiculous amount of gaming options this weekend has left me more confused than a screenwriter for Lost. I’ll definitely be racking up the laps in Shift 2 for this week’s upcoming review, and I’m also dedicating some time to finishing Crysis 2 and Bulletstorm. On top of that there’s the Tomb Raider Trilogy which comes out today (I’ve been itching to give Legend another playthrough) and the highly addictive remake of Death Rally on iOS.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ed – Dan is playing Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed this weekend, and that’s all he will be playing because his review remains outstanding >:(<\/em><\/p>\n

This weekend is sure to be a busy one. I’m currently working my way through the wonderfully Japanese designed Yakuza 4. So far, it’s a bit like watching a real-time rendered movie in which you are responsible for the outcome of the action sequences. I’ve sat through 15-20 minute cut-scenes (no exaggeration) designed with character development in mind. It is certainly a departure from what I’ve become accustomed to with ‘western’ style games, but a departure I’m quite enjoying so far. Also, I want to get to the infamous table tennis mini-game…<\/p>\n

Also on my plate is MotoGP 10\/11. It’s been an age since I’ve playing a motorbike racing sim, so I’m quite looking forward to seeing how far things have come along. Finally, I have WWE All Stars. Although developed and published by THQ (the same guys responsible for the Smackdown vs RAW wrestling ‘simulation’ titles) WWE All Stars promises a more arcade and action packed style of gameplay, with attack combos and wildly exaggerated moves a core component. I’m hoping it can live up to the promises, as the Smackdown vs RAW franchise has been pretty bland of late.<\/p>\n
