{"id":112399,"date":"2016-11-29T14:24:20","date_gmt":"2016-11-29T12:24:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=112399"},"modified":"2016-11-29T14:31:40","modified_gmt":"2016-11-29T12:31:40","slug":"major-security-flaw-on-windows-10-pcs-revelaled","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/hardware\/112399-major-security-flaw-on-windows-10-pcs-revelaled","title":{"rendered":"Major security flaw on Windows 10 PCs revealed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A serious security flaw discovered in Windows 10 allows\u00a0non-administrative users to gain system-level access during upgrades of certain versions of the operating system.<\/p>\n<p>The flaw was first\u00a0discovered several months ago by white-hat <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.win-fu.com\/2016\/11\/every-windows-10-in-place-upgrade-is.html\" target=\"_blank\">Sami Laiho<\/a><\/strong> who held off on making the news public so that Microsoft could address the issue.<\/p>\n<p>As Laiho describes:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The installation of a new build is done by reimaging the machine and the image installed by a small version of Windows called Windows PE (Preinstallation Environment).&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This has a feature for troubleshooting that allows you to press <b>SHIFT+F10<\/b> to get a Command Prompt.
