{"id":11253,"date":"2011-04-12T10:30:00","date_gmt":"2011-04-12T08:30:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T22:00:00","slug":"rumour-control-xbox-live-adding-free-to-play-games-in-2012","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/xbox\/11253-rumour-control-xbox-live-adding-free-to-play-games-in-2012","title":{"rendered":"Rumour control: Xbox LIVE adding free-to-play games in 2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/xboxlive.ign.com\/articles\/116\/1160708p1.html\" target=\"_blank\">IGN<\/a>&rsquo;s industry spies, Microsoft is prepping to launch a number of as-yet unannounced free-to-play (F2P or &ldquo;freemium&rdquo;) titles over Xbox LIVE sometime next year.<\/p>\n<p>The report claims this will allow developers and publishers to release free games relying on microtransactions for additional content like gear and in-game currency to turn a profit.
