{"id":113117,"date":"2016-12-05T17:16:06","date_gmt":"2016-12-05T15:16:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=113117"},"modified":"2016-12-05T17:19:05","modified_gmt":"2016-12-05T15:19:05","slug":"russia-accuses-fifa-17-of-being-gay-propaganda","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/pc\/113117-russia-accuses-fifa-17-of-being-gay-propaganda","title":{"rendered":"Russia accuses FIFA 17 of being &#8220;gay propaganda&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Russian MPs have asked the state communications oversight agency to take action against the FIFA 17 video game for violating the country\u2019s law against gay propaganda, reports <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2016\/dec\/05\/russian-mps-accuse-fifa-17-video-game-of-gay-propaganda\" target=\"_blank\">The Guardian<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, they pointed to issues with regards to the recent Premier League campaign which \u201cinvites users to support the English football premier league\u2019s Rainbow Laces action, a massive campaign in support of LGBT (sic)&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>This contravenes 2013 Russian Legislation, which provides that such propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations can cause \u201charm to children\u2019s health and development\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;LGBT rights group Stonewall began the <strong><a class=\"u-underline\" href=\"http:\/\/www.stonewall.org.uk\/our-work\/campaigns\/rainbow-laces\" target=\"_blank\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">Rainbow Laces campaign<\/a><\/strong> last month to combat homophobia, biphobia and transphobia in football, noting that 72% of fans had heard anti-LGBT remarks at games over the past five years.
