Intel has unveiled its new\u00a07th-gen Core i7<\/strong><\/a>, i5, and i3 processors for desktops and laptops.<\/p>\n

The company first introduced its 7th-gen range in August 2016, with the initial processors designed for ultra-portable devices.<\/p>\n

Intel\u2019s new processors\u00a0are based on its\u00a014nm+ process technology and promise increased performance and reliability.<\/p>\n

The new CPUs are divided into the H Series \u2013 designed for performance laptops \u2013 and the S Series \u2013 intended for use in desktop PCs.<\/p>\n

The desktop CPUs are headed up by the\u00a0i7-7700K, which Intel said is 25% faster than the\u00a0i7-4770K.<\/p>\n

For laptop users, the top H Series processor is said to be 20% faster than the i7-4700HQ.<\/p>\n

It was also reported that Intel is for the first time offering\u00a0an unlocked Core i3 model, the Core i3 7350K \u2013 a dual-core\u00a04.2GHz CPU.<\/p>\n

Intel said the new 7th-gen processors will also offer a new media engine, making it possible to\u00a0stream 4K movies and TV shows.<\/p>\n

VR and high-quality gaming will also be supported by the processors, with the new\u00a0Intel Iris Plus graphics making it possible for mobile gamers \u201cto take a game like Overwatch with you and play in full HD\u201d.<\/p>\n

The CPUs will run on Intel\u2019s new 200-series chipset, which supports up to 24 PCI Express 3.0 chipset lanes and 10 USB 3.0 ports.<\/p>\n
