I’ll be playing mommy to a brand new battle-puppy, who was drafted into the war-pack a few days ago. Otherwise, I’ve been persuaded to co-op that new Flashpoint game with a friend, and I’ll probably fill the gaps with the Gears of War 3 beta.<\/p>\n

Last weekend I discovered the PC indie gem that is Mount & Blade (Warband to be specific). This game somehow reminds me of old school PC gaming. It can be as frustrating as it is rewarding, and if I could have one gaming wish granted it would be that a major publisher would give TaleWorlds a ton of cash to develop it into a full scale AAA game, complete with awesome visuals and sound. Suffice to say, this is what I’ll be playing in my gaming time this weekend. Who needs HD textures and voice actors when you’ve got imagination, amirite?<\/p>\n

Our review copy of Mortal Kombat 9 finally arrived, so I’ll be reliving those whimsical childhood memories of decapitation, immolation and spine removal. Too bad I won’t be able to check out the online mode thanks to the PSN downtime, but that’s OK because I’d probably lose… a lot. Otherwise I might just be able to squeeze some Mount & Blade: Warband time in, as Nic assures me it is suitably ‘old school’ and worth the gameplay time investment. Time permitting, I may also have the honour of holding Nic’s hand and pointing and laughing as he muddles through the co-op Portal 2 levels.<\/p>\n

Since I recently finished my Darkspore review, I think I will it a break for now. Instead it is time to spike up my hair, don some quirky, questionable fashion and fill a need which I have not had filled in quite some time. Time to play a JRPG!<\/p>\n

This weekend I will be playing Ar Tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel. Phew… what a mouthful. Try saying that ten times fast! (Or just once slowly? Ed) It will most likely suck (like 99% of this gen’s JRPGs), but hell, I have needs! *Cough, weebo<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On the side, I will be finishing up Portal 2 (a decent game, but it just feels like too much of a muchness). Portal 1 had it right, making it into a full game feels protracted.<\/p>\n

Chris is celebrating Buddha’s birthday this weekend. As he puts it, they don’t care much for Easter on that side of the planet, but he’s getting a long weekend to rejoice at the birth of the world’s most beloved zen master.
