Of course nothing is official at this stage, and we are expecting Activision to unveil Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 at this year’s E3 if not earlier, but various snippets of information about the game are gradually bubbling to the surface, with high profile gaming news sites like Kotaku<\/a> attributing the leaks to “trusted sources”.<\/p>\n

Firstly, as expected, Modern Warfare 3 will land this “Fall”, or to be more precise, in November – the same month Activision launches a new CoD every year. Of course this will see it go face to face with Battlefield 3, which is looking unbelievably good. Infinity Ward is working on Modern Warfare 3, although it is well documented that the majority of key personal involved in previous CoD games from the studio have departed. Rumour has it that other Activision studios Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software are helping out with development. <\/p>\n

Modern Warfare 3 will supposedly pick up where Modern Warfare 2’s story left off. Towards the end of Modern Warfare 2 a nuclear warhead is detonated somewhere above the Mid-Atlantic. The resultant electromagnetic pulse wipes out all electronic equipment in the surrounding area, which includes much of the USA. Apparently Modern Warfare 3 will deliver a “world in crysis” feel, and the conflict will escelate to something along the lines of World War 3. There will supposedly be large urban environments, and Infinity Ward is reported to be introducing bigger battlefields with destructible environments. <\/p>\n

That’s it for now, and of course the information remains unconfirmed. We can expect official Modern Warfare 3 details in the next few months, so watch this space. <\/p>\n
