In news that will make PC Master Racists squeal with supremacist delight, Capcom has come out in support of the increasingly marginalised PC market. It’s like 1995 all over again.<\/p>\n
“The push for PC gaming within Capcom over the years has been lead by a select few people. I’m one, putting my money where my mouth is with my forecasts,” writes Capcom vice-prez Christian Svensson in a new blog post.<\/a><\/p>\n “PC gaming’s profile is growing at Capcom,” he adds. “Both the US and our European teams continue to request PC SKUs for new titles. We’ve got more titles coming with PC versions than ever before (e.g. Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition, etc.).<\/p>\n “At green light meetings, our Japanese COO and the head of the consumer and online software business increasingly request a PC version if one is not being proposed at the outset of a project.<\/p>\n “So in short,” he concludes, “while we’re still not yet where I’d like for us to be, the future is getting better for Capcom fans who are PC gamers all over the world.”<\/p>\n After controversially cancelling a PC version of Super Street Fighter IV last year due to claims of piracy, Capcom recently took it all back and announced they’d be bringing the Arcade Edition to the platform after all.<\/p>\n
