<\/p>\nFinally, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Collector\u2019s Edition has arrived. I was fortunate enough to grab a copy of the very limited stock of the Collector\u2019s Edition to arrive in South Africa. I must say that I think this is one of the best I\u2019ve ever purchased \u2013 most notably because of the high quality artbook.<\/p>\n
CD Projekt Red and Namco Bandai have done a great job creating this product and it\u2019s worth celebrating when a good thing comes together. I carefully and tentatively unboxed the contents and took some pictures so that you, dear readers, might get a peek inside.<\/p>\n

The box itself is quite sturdy and features a glossy piece of Witcher 2 artwork over an otherwise matt texture. I\u2019ve photographed it next to a coffee mug to give some perspective on the bulk of the Collector\u2019s Edition.<\/p>\n

Having removed the lid, one will find inside the various papercraft kits and assembly instructions, some stickers, and a redemption code for DLC \u2013 the Roche Commando Jacket. In the background you can see the A4 sized, 195-page, hard covered, The Witcher 2 Assassins of Kings Artbook.<\/p>\n

Beneath the artbook one finds the other goodies. There\u2019s the Geralt head sculpture, made of a hefty material which we are assuming is clay. Unfortunately the shipping of the product appears to have scuffed off some of the paint on my particular sculpture, and even ever-so-slighty resculpted Geralt\u2019s right eyebrow. Oh well.<\/p>\n
The other goodies include: The Witcher dice set and card deck, and a rulebook for playing games designed for their use; and a Temerian coin. Of course you also get the Premium Edition of The Witcher 2, which we had the pleasure of unboxing yesterday \u2013 click through<\/a> to see the contents.<\/p>\n The artbook is probably the best part of this already fantastic collector\u2019s edition. It is not only filled with selections of artwork and character and game world renders, but is also packed with fascinating information describing backstory on regions, landmarks and creatures, and gives insight into how CD Projekt Red went about designing the highly detailed game. On every page there are high-DPI, full-colour pictures, printed on thick gloss-paper, and bound in a sturdy, hardcover.<\/p>\n Right now, I\u2019m very proud to be a PC gamer.<\/p>\n Now if you were keen on getting your hands on one of these limited The Witcher 2 Collector\u2019s Editions, you should probably have placed your pre-order quite a while ago. However, you may be in luck, as the MyGaming shop<\/a> has one copy left for sale.
