{"id":120354,"date":"2017-09-03T15:00:36","date_gmt":"2017-09-03T13:00:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=120354"},"modified":"2017-09-01T17:50:18","modified_gmt":"2017-09-01T15:50:18","slug":"facebook-is-taking-on-youtube","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/entertainment\/120354-facebook-is-taking-on-youtube","title":{"rendered":"Facebook is taking on YouTube"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Facebook Watch has launched in the US, and will let anyone submit shows for approval,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/us-facebook-television-idUSKCN1BB1P9\">Reuters reported<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The report stated that Facebook\u2019s video streaming service will compete against YouTube in an effort to boost\u00a0advertising revenue.<\/p>\n<p>55% of ad revenue will go to content creators, it said.<\/p>\n<p>When Facebook started testing Watch this month, it featured hundreds of shows from\u00a0Vox, Buzzfeed, and Discovery, along with live sports such as Major League Baseball.<\/p>\n<p>Reuters reported that\u00a0Facebook is paying certain content creators for shows to drive interest.
