Looks like Interplay’s Fallout Online MMOG – and everything else they’ve been working on (mostly just an Earthworm Jim sequel that nothing much has been said about) might be in some serious jeopardy, according to a US Securities and Exchange Commission report filed by the company last week.<\/p>\n

“If we do not receive sufficient financing or income we may (i) liquidate assets, (ii) sell the company (iii) seek protection from our creditors including the filing of voluntary bankruptcy or being the subject of involuntary bankruptcy, and\/or (iv) continue operations, but incur material harm to our business, operations or financial conditions. These conditions, combined with our historical operating losses and our deficits in stockholders’ equity and working capital, raise substantial doubt about our ability to continue as a going concern,” reads the report.<\/p>\n

The company’s current cash balance is sitting at just $3000, which is barely enough to score a few hits of street-class Jet, much less develop a whole MMOG, while they’re also apparently some $2.9 million in debt.<\/p>\n

The game – or, more specifically, Interplay’s rights to use the brand name – has been the subject of an ongoing litigation drama with Bethesda. Not even a new water chip could save them now. Sadface.<\/p>\n
