top-selling Steam games in South Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Outlast was the best-selling game on Steam in South Africa in September, according to\u00a0SteamSpy.<\/p>\n<p>SteamSpy is run by game developer Sergey Galyonkin, who collects data from Steam as part of the SteamSpy project.<\/p>\n<p>While\u00a0Valve does not release official sales figures for Steam,\u00a0Galyonkin uses data from user profiles to extrapolate findings \u2013 dividing them into country categories.<\/p>\n<p>With Steam currently the dominant online platform for PC gaming,\u00a0data from the service provides a good indication of popular PC titles in SA.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Steam in SA<\/h3>\n<p>On 3 October, SteamSpy showed the following statistics for Steam in SA:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Total active users \u2013\u00a0<strong>623,391 \u00b1 72,189<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Share of total users \u2013\u00a0<strong>0.24%<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Share of total games \u2013\u00a0<strong>0.22%<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Owned games per user \u2013\u00a0<strong>23.95<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Average playtime (2 weeks) \u2013\u00a0<strong>28:07<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Average playtime (total) \u2013\u00a0<strong>916:10<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Active users (2 weeks) \u2013\u00a0<strong>35%<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Active users (total) \u2013\u00a0<strong>88%<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Best-selling games in September<\/h3>\n<p>The games detailed below were the top-sellers in South Africa for September.<\/p>\n<p>The
