Kicking off its E3 2011 keynote address, Nintendo has revealed 5 new games currently being developed for the 3DS.<\/p>\n
Mario Kart<\/strong><\/p>\n First off, is a new Mario Kart title, simply titled Mario Kart. Anyone familiar with the game on Wii will immediately recognise it, with the trademark power ups, sparky tyres and cutesy visuals. The demo footage also showed karts making huge jumps and even turning into hang gliders, as well as driving into water and turning into submarines. Also spotted is a vehicle customization screen. Mario Kart will be out in time for Christmas.<\/p>\n Star Fox 3D<\/strong><\/p>\n Next is Star Fox 3D – an arcade flying game which makes use of the 3DS’ gyroscope to control the action. It also shows off some neat 3DS camera integration. StarFox 3D is due out in September.<\/p>\n Super Mario 3D<\/strong> <\/p>\n Super Mario 3D – a 3D Mario game that more than slightly resembles Super Mario Galaxy. Forget the side scrolling inherent in old school Mario games, this is all 3D. Familiar power-ups, cute power-up suits, and other Mario hallmarks are in place. Super Mario 3D is due out before the end of the year. <\/p>\n Kid Icarus Uprising<\/strong><\/p>\n Kid Icarus Uprising – arcade action that mixes shoot-em up gameplay with ground-based combat. The multiplayer component will be key, and players will be able to choose their weapons. The trailer also teased some sort of augmented reality component. <\/p>\n Luigi’s Mansion 2<\/strong><\/p>\n The long awaited sequel to Luigi’s Mansion. Like a Mario game, but slightly darker and creepier, while retaining the iconic cartoon style visuals, naturally. Nintendo doesn’t say when Luigi’s Mansion is due out. <\/p>\n More<\/strong><\/p>\n Nintendo then went on to reveal a bunch of other less high-profile 3DS games that are currently in development, including Ace Combat 3D, Tetris, Cave Story, Resident Evil: Mercs and Revelations, Driver: Renegade, Pac-Man Dimensions, Tekken 3D, Snake Eater 3D.<\/p>\n
