{"id":12233,"date":"2011-06-08T12:02:00","date_gmt":"2011-06-08T10:02:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T22:00:00","slug":"insomniac-on-loyal-playstation-fans-we-love-them","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/business\/12233-insomniac-on-loyal-playstation-fans-we-love-them","title":{"rendered":"Insomniac on loyal PlayStation fans: &quot;We love them\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><p>After announcing at E3 that they&rsquo;ve tag-teamed with EA on the multiplatform launcher Overstrike, Insomniac Games has reminded Sony fans that the company still wuvs dem, and that everything&rsquo;s going to be okay, shhhh now.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We recognise we have a very loyal fanbase among Sony players, and we love them,&rdquo; CEO Ted Price tells <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/articles\/2011-06-08-insomniac-still-dedicated-to-ps3-fans\" target=\"_blank\">Eurogamer.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We&rsquo;re definitely dedicated to them. However, we&rsquo;ve always wanted to reach out to an even broader audience. The Xbox 360 audience has been a viable, vibrant audience for a long time. This was just a chance to do that.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We&rsquo;ve loved having Sony as a partner for many years, and we&rsquo;re continuing to work with Sony. However, Sony owns the [Resistence, Ratch &amp; Clank] IP. That&rsquo;s great. We&rsquo;ve wanted to be able to control our destiny a little bit more in a more solid way. Owning one&rsquo;s IP gives you even more latitude when it comes to how your IP is taken beyond games.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Asked if Insomniac is done with PS3-exclusive development forever, Price adds that, &ldquo;It&#8217;s important to say never say never. Everybody&#8217;s been constantly surprised at how quickly the industry changes, so I would never want to say anything that locks us into a particular path because it&#8217;ll be brought up and dusted off and used against us at some point.
