Cryptocurrency mining can be a profitable exercise, despite the volatile nature of the market.<\/p>\n

To see which graphics cards can make you the most money in your mining rig, we used mining benchmarks from\u00a0HotHardware<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0to compare the hash rate of popular GPUs when used to mine Ethereum.<\/p>\n

Using CryptoCompare\u2019s\u00a0profitability calculator<\/strong><\/a>, we then determined the estimated earnings per year for each card and calculated the payback period.<\/p>\n

Card and cryptocurrency prices used in the calculations are from 8 December 2017.<\/p>\n

The best graphics cards for cryptocurrency mining in 2017, ranked by payback period, are listed below.<\/p>\n
