Java, C, and C++ remain the most popular programming languages in the world, according to the\u00a0Tiobe Index<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0for December 2017.<\/p>\n

C has gained in popularity in 2017 thanks to an increase in low-level software in the automotive industry.<\/p>\n

Tiobe added that the prime candidates for programming language of the year were C and Kotlin.<\/p>\n

\u201cKotlin is a language that can run on a Java VM and has become popular because it has been accepted as an official Android language,\u201d stated the report.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0PYPL rankings<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0showed Java at the top of the list, followed by Python and PHP.<\/p>\n

The top 10 programming languages for December, according to the Tiobe Index and PYPL rankings, are detailed below.<\/p>\n

Calculating the rankings<\/h3>\n

PYPL \u2013 The more a language tutorial is searched, the more popular the language is assumed to be. The raw data comes from Google Trends.<\/p>\n

Tiobe \u2013 The ratings are based on the number of skilled engineers worldwide, courses, and third-party vendors. Popular search engines are also used to calculate the ratings.<\/p>\n
