The director of the Witcher 3, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, announced<\/a> on 16 February the formation of Rebel Wolves, a new game studio based in Warsaw, that consists mainly of CD Projekt Red veterans.<\/p>\n

The team also announced that it is already developing a triple-A, dark fantasy RPG title that will be the first in a saga of new RPGs. The game is being created inside the Unreal 5 engine and will reportedly be available for PC and next-gen consoles.<\/p>\n

This, along with a single piece of concept art, are the only details shared about the upcoming game.<\/p>\n

Rebel Wolves’ employee roster includes CEO Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, studio head Robert Murzynowski, narrative director and main writer Jakub Szamalek, design director Daniel Sadowski, animation director Tamara Zawada, and art director Bartlomiej Gawel.<\/p>\n

Some of the previous titles the team has worked on include The Witcher series, Cyberpunk 2077, Thronebreaker, and Shadow Warrior 2.<\/p>\n

The studio’s website states that its mission is to revolutionise the RPG genre by providing developers with a supportive environment to focus exclusively on their passion for creating amazing video games.<\/p>\n

As part of this, in a press release by Rebel Wolves, the studio stated that it wants to distance itself from “the weight of AAA development studios” and expressed its desire to remain “small and agile.”<\/p>\n

“Our goal is clearly defined: to create memorable games, tell moving stories and evoke visceral emotions,” said narrative director Jakub Szamalek, in an effort to reassure gamers that the studio will focus on quality over chasing numbers or trends.<\/p>\n
