Gabe Newell, the co-founder and president of Valve, recently stated that while there are no plans to introduce a \u2018Steam Pass\u2019 to the platform, it would consider working with Microsoft to put Game Pass on Steam if there was enough demand.<\/p>\n
“I don’t think it’s something that we think we need to do ourselves, building a subscription service at this time,” Newell said. “But for their customers, it’s clearly a popular option, and we’d be more than happy to work with them to get that on Steam.”<\/p>\n
While Microsoft hasn’t made any statements regarding a possible collaboration with Valve, adding Xbox Game Pass to Steam is not impossible.<\/p>\n
Steam has integrated the EA Play subscription service into its platform, so the technology already exists.<\/p>\n
The decision regarding integrating Microsoft Game Pass into Steam would therefore revolve around whether it would be financially beneficial for both companies.<\/p>\n
Newell evidently subscribes to this mentality.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf your customers want it, then you should figure out how to make it happen,” said Newell.<\/p>\n
“That’s where we’re at.”<\/p>\n
