A well-known industry insider Tom Henderson revealed an image of a new map that is expected to feature in COD Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2, reported<\/a><\/strong> VGC.<\/p>\n

According to Henderson<\/a><\/strong>, a source who was recently included in a playtest for Warzone 2 claimed that the map was available in the start-up menu of the game.<\/p>\n

However, the maps curator stated that it was unavailable to play for the current session.<\/p>\n

This is a sign that the new map is well into development and sources have suggested that it will be similar in size to Rebirth Island from the original Warzone.<\/p>\n

Although the map is still far from being completed, the leak has revealed the map\u2019s points of interest, which include Oasis, War-torn, Quarry, Oilfield, Modern City, Hydro Station, Marshes, Harbour, Caves, Observatory, Mountain Town, Sira, Old Town, Graveyard, Fish to Win, Airport, Shipwreck, and Fort.<\/p>\n

The image below also shows the general terrain layout of the new map, where water is shown in blue, densely built-up locations in grey, the land in brown, elevated areas in dark brown, and a rail track in black.<\/p>\n

Not only will this new map be added to Warzone 2, but it will also serve as the grounds for Modern Warfare 2\u2019s reported third game mode, DMZ.<\/p>\n

This mode is described by sources as a mix of PvP and PvE like Battlefield 2042\u2019s Hazard Zone.<\/p>\n

Publisher Activision confirmed on Tuesday that the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 release date is October 28, 2022, while the current plan is to release Warzone 2 around December 2022 \u2013 January 2023.<\/p>\n
