Ubisoft informed Axios Gaming<\/a><\/strong> that it will be skipping the Summer Game Fest in its entirety this season and will host its own E3 replacement event “later this year.”<\/p>\n

The company has historically held annual showcase events in June, where it has unveiled big titles like Assassin’s Creed<\/em> and Ghost Recon<\/em> games alongside a wide variety of new IP.<\/p>\n

For Ubisoft to announce that it will not be part-taking in this year\u2019s Summer Game Fest alongside PlayStation, Xbox, and other major companies is a notable concern.<\/p>\n

This is because Ubisoft has historically had big holiday lineups, but it has struggled to keep up with these levels in recent years.<\/p>\n

The company\u2019s 2022 line-up is almost nonexistent, with the only likely title to be released this year being Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora<\/em>, in conjunction with the new Avatar movie coming out in December.<\/p>\n

Ubisoft might let the likes of PlayStation and Xbox showcase some of its upcoming titles thanks to recent marketing deals, but this has not been confirmed.<\/p>\n

Despite this Ubisoft has a strong line-up for early 2023, which includes notable titles such as Skull and Bones, The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake, and The Division Heartland.<\/em><\/p>\n

It\u2019s also fair to mention that Ubisoft is not the only major developer giving June\u2019s Game Fest season a miss, as Electronic Arts have also announced that it will not make an appearance.<\/p>\n

EA simply stated that the reasoning behind this decision is due to the fact that it doesn\u2019t have enough new content to dedicate an entire show to.<\/p>\n

The absence of both these developers from this year\u2019s June Summer Game Fest is disappointing news, but that doesn\u2019t mean that there isn\u2019t anything to look forward to during this month\u2019s showcases.<\/p>\n
