According to Gamereactor<\/a><\/strong>, multiple European sources have confirmed that Sony\u2019s highly anticipated title God of War: Ragnar\u00f6k<\/em> will be delayed to 2023 by developer Santa Monica Studio.<\/p>\n

While Sony has yet to confirm the delay, it doesn\u2019t come as a surprise given the fact that many titles which were given an initial release date within 2021 and 2022 have been pushed back due to interruptions caused by the pandemic.<\/p>\n

Another telling sign was the absence of the game during Sony\u2019s latest PlayStation State of Play, which focused solely on third-party titles and VR releases.<\/p>\n

God of War: Ragnar\u00f6k<\/em> was first delayed from its initial 2021 release window to 2022.<\/p>\n

The decision was made \u201cto ensure that Santa Monica Studio can deliver the amazing God of War game that we all want to play,\u201d said Head of PlayStation StudiosHerman Hulst.<\/p>\n

Some speculated that the game\u2019s most likely release would be in September or October 2022, which may no longer be the case.<\/p>\n

Official update expected today<\/h3>\n

However, many fans took to Twitter<\/a><\/strong> to point out the fact that the PlayStation Store page for God of War: Ragnar\u00f6k<\/em> was updated yesterday.<\/p>\n

Final Fantasy XVI had the same thing happen last week ahead of its re-emergence at the State of Play.<\/p>\n

This has led some to believe that the game could be getting a showing at Summer Game Fest, which could either prove these rumours wrong or confirm them with an official announcement that the title will only release sometime in 2023.<\/p>\n

The Summer Game Fest will be broadcasted on YouTube and Twitch today (9 June) at 20:00 SAST.<\/p>\n
