{"id":125597,"date":"2022-06-29T08:20:54","date_gmt":"2022-06-29T06:20:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=125597"},"modified":"2022-06-29T08:20:54","modified_gmt":"2022-06-29T06:20:54","slug":"joburg-high-school-builds-r3-million-esports-arena","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/entertainment\/125597-joburg-high-school-builds-r3-million-esports-arena","title":{"rendered":"Joburg high school builds R3 million eSports arena"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Centennial Schools in Sunninghill has spent R3 million on building the largest eSports arena of its kind in Africa, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mg.co.za\/sci-tech\/2022-06-28-modern-world-skills-new-joburg-high-school-boasts-a-r3m-esports-arena\/?utm_content=buffer65daf&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=facebook.com&amp;utm_campaign=buffer&amp;fbclid=IwAR240CRs4HMsY8BSx_3CWmEehhwqSypJYfTDMqgYbCbM1IiKo1AFV_-mhcE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a><\/strong> the Mail and Guardian.<\/p>\n<p>The state-of-the-art arena is 300m<sup>2<\/sup> and runs on 1Gbps Fibre internet with a backup generator to stop load-shedding from ruining the fun.<\/p>\n<p>This eSports lab also features the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>30 individual gaming stations.<\/li>\n<li>Spectator stands within the eSports Arena as well as 70-inch TV screens to watch all the action.<\/li>\n<li>A lounge area to relax and catch up on the latest pro tips.<\/li>\n<li>Six Xbox sim racing stations.<\/li>\n<li>Access to a caf\u00e9 for refreshments and food.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cWe partnered with Asus Republic of Gamers, to kit out the arena with the best gaming chairs, screens, and machines.
